Why You Must Know About Anger Management To Live A Healthy Life
I was dancing over the furniture,
up and down,
from ceiling to the ground!
(Imagine yourself, dancing to the beats of your favorite music)
Your mobile phone rings and you saw the number flashing on the screen. Suddenly, music became a horrible noise. The melody turned into cacophony. You see? That quick change? How in seconds your smiling face turned gloomy? There are many more instances in your daily life where you fail to contemplate your thoughts and just react. The reason for that gloomy face can be anything but here, I want you to focus on your reactions. What did you do? You picked up the phone and started yelling due to some wrathful story associated with that person. Think about it. You did not even care to listen to what the person wanted to say but considering all the pre-assumptions you just reacted. Phone calls are one thing. There can be many in-person incidents as well where we react more than understanding. What is it?
This is your Anger and Anger is considered as a Deadly Sin.
Anger?
It is not a feeling.
It is a place, a time, a person, or even a small little keyring!
It kills you more when you can't show it.
It hurts you deep when they don't know it.
You just get pissed off and everything around you suddenly turns out to be explosive.
Well, your pretty words will do the same task!
The things mentioned above are those reminders that can kill your vibe. It could be regarding your present condition or a past story that has a negative impact in your life. If that long story pops up in your perilous head then it will burst for sure. Anger is a mechanism to cover up fear, hurt, or sadness. You don't want to show these emotions and hence you try another way out. Some people stay silent when angry, while others just explode due to the building stress levels. This majorly happens when they got hurt to that extremities that it becomes inevitable. You are then only left with an option to shout and scream in an unusual way. It's terrifying when you show, that anger, to the one who doesn't even know the reason. I agree with the fact that it is easier said than done but sometimes you really need to control your feelings and stay calm.
Here are 6 ways to deal with your anger issues:
- Practice relaxation techniques: Take 3 deep breaths; focus on slow breathing
- Immediately start backward counting from 50. Counting backwards always distracts an angry person
- Stay away from things that make you angry. The best way is to get along with your favorite person. But do not let your sufferings on others. When you are with your favorite person, you are taking away all the negative feelings away from you and this brings your uncontrolled anger to rest.
- Have your favorite meal. Ah! That will take time to cook. Right? No worries. Go for a bar of chocolate or an ice-cream.
- For long term consequences, develop a habit of meditation. Give yourself some personal time. Thinking over, again and again, will make your life a mess. Meditation helps in setting up a direction, brings focus, works as management therapy, gives you a quiet time, reduces the risk of heart disease, helps you in quality sleep and works as a behavioral therapy as well.
- Regular exercise is the best way for anger management. When you do physical activity, then you are taking care of your mental health as well.
Anger ruins a person. It's all brain's thing. If you have control over your brain you can conquer everything. So count till three and get ready; the world awaits you. If you relate to the short story and have such situations in your life, feel free to share the solutions. We would love to know how you deal with anger in real-life instances.
Stay Happy!
Until Next Time :)
